Where It Comes From -
A Middle School teacher. Seventeen years. An “energy miner.” All teaching is about the exchange of energy. Curriculum and planning provide the platform. Energy exchange provides the success. Middle School students come in as many varieties as finches or flowers. They have their social capital invested in many different places. Achieving success by finding what is authentic and unique in each one depends on intuitive observation, patient listening, careful and unique motivation.
Where It Lives -
A photographer. Thirty-eight years. An “energy miner.” All photography is about the exchange of energy. Equipment, technical skill, light and shadow provide the platform. Energy exchange creates the art. What has passed for me has been prologue. Finding what is authentic and unique about each person I photograph depends on intuitive observation, patient listening, careful and unique motivation.
